The Goalkeeper

Football-wise, I have always been favouring the goalkeeping department (winger comes second). Kids regularly shouted Alessandro Del Piero’s or David Beckham’s names at that time, but when being questioned “do you have any favourite player in the upcoming European Football Championship?” for my high school admission interview (yes we had it) back in the year 2000, I answered, “Yes, Francesco Toldo”. That was during his long-term spell in Fiorentina. If not because of my glasses, I would also have made an effort to assume the goalkeeper position in my entire period as a high school student. I played as one once, and made two important saves without wearing my spectacles. Subsequently I played as a centre-back.

I always enjoy the moments goalkeepers stop dangerous shots and penalty kicks. It is like halting somebody else’s masturbation, a legal killjoy, and thus at such particular point of time my satisfaction level goes ad infinitum. I was in such state when Vladimir Stojkovic prevented Lukas Podolski from scoring from the 12-yard spot. In consequence, I have always enjoyed penalty shoot-out.

And there was the first penalty shoot-out in World Cup 2010. I was expecting great actions from both Justo Villar and Eiji Kawashima, just like the excellence they had shown prior to the shoot-out, but it turned out that the failed penalty kick from Yuichi Komano hitting the crossbar that enabled Paraguay to proceed to the quarter-final. I am on Japan’s side in this match, but congrats to Paraguay.

Now, I shall go home and sleep. There will be a meeting coming this afternoon, and I haven’t finished my class diagram. 🙂

Debian

Debian

Debian, once a love story, written on top of thin plastic discs and sent to all parts of the world. Things have changed since then, and what is left is nothing more than a memento. History does not desire to record this romance any deeper.

On Work

Ndledek

On work

I want to work whenever I want to work
Not halted by any predefined boundaries
Not until 7 PM nor 12 PM
But until I really want to stop

For I am a swiftly flowing river
Never stop me and fear my deluge,
of its doom-bringing power, ruining civilisations

So my dear school, please just let me come in the afternoon and go home right before sunrise, even though it means I will be late on the next day…

Boys

tempat tujuh-belasan, panjat pinang.
Belajar bersepeda di halaman puskesmas,
jatuh, lecet, biarin,
juga masjid di sebelahnya,
yang di depannya ada pohon asem.
Pecel lele, persis di sebelah!
Bu Mentris, Mbak Novi, Pak Har, Mas Pras,
Ah, Mas Pras ini dulu sering diajak main Dragon Ball,
sukanya pakai Cell Junior, sedangkan aku pakai Cell
Sekarang udah pada sepuh ya.
Terbangun subuh, nonton Bapak namatin Island Adventure sambil ditemenin Ibu
orang gila pasang kuda-kuda menantang,
terus pergi
halal bihalal, sambal hijau, pedas sangat, bwah!
David Copperfield, Rocky Rackat, Ksatria Baja Hitam
kompor yang terbakar,
suara glodak-glodek di atap
cerita hantu di Fantasi, dan aku yang selalu ketakutan
pagi-pagi jogging ke karang taruna
sore dimandiin di halaman
kolam ikan yang kemudian dibongkar
suzuki biru, yamaha merah, honda hitam
siang-siang pasang lagu franky
bukannya tidur malah nyanyi

Ah…
Boys will be boys.

Perfect Date

Ah, jadi teringat masa-masa itu…(maaf postingan lama diprotect)
